I think that their should be a club set up for people who have been bullied to help them get back on track with their life and try and firget about what happened to them. Thank you for your comments on bullying. Mr. Kelly

I agree with jack because they will be very upset about about it so they can share what happend to them. JST

i agree with jodie and jack because you can always tell teachers because they are there to help you. JST

I’ve been bullied and it really hurts, I wish there was a club for bullying when I was recovering so I think it’s a very good idea. Luckily I’m not bullied now, it feels really good to trust people again.

I think that bullying in schools is a big issue.I dont think its happening in our school, its more, one of name calling but Jack is right there should be a club run by the kids of the school so they can sort it out and express themselves.Bullying is hardely ever done with just one person bullying its more thanone person who is the bully most of the time targeting one person which is not fair and horrible.I agree with everyone who has posted a comment

Hi, I don’t know much about this – i just found it so I hope it is okay for me to leave a comment (I used to go to JMS and am now in 6th form at Abgindon College.)

But I think teachers need to be trained better so that they can spot bullying and know what to do. They often don’t take it seriously enough or act/notice a child being bullied in class (i.e. called names or spat on or stuff thrown at them or their computer turned off …) and they often move the person BEING bullied and NOT the bully.

They need to notice someone going through hell in the class room and they need to sened the BULLY out and not move the ‘victim!’

It sounds really good what you’re doing – thank you :)

To help educate children about bullying is wrong and what to do you could have older pupils to teach them and also have a box so if and person is being bullied they can write i there secretly.

i agree with lauryn

Hi Mr Kelly, I thought that what you could do for a campaign at school is to make a gigantic poster and show it in assembly at one point.
Also I think that bullying is wrong, my sister just the other day was walking in the street and then some stranger just pushed her in the road and she nearly got knocked down. Luckily she found out who it was but she never forgets it.

My idea is we can sell badges with many different choices of antibullying slogans on them. The money will go to help people who are getting bullyed not to be bullyed. Thank you for your comments on bullying. Mr. Kelly

Hi Mr.Kelly. I think for the campaign we should have a day where another school ( the same age as us) comes to our school and gives us their point of view on bullying. Then, putting those thoughts forward, we could campaign to help get children educated. Thank you for your comments on bullying. Mr. Kelly

anti bullying campaign ideas:

let people know the real dangers of bullying people, and what children and adults cana do to stop it.
explain how even when you dont think you are doing it you can be upsettin people anyway and that they may possibly take it the wrong way and get upset too. Thank you for your comments on bullying. Mr. Kelly

A way we could campaign anti-bullying is that we show bullying is three different perspectives:
A person who is so depressed that they end up commiting suicide.
Someone who is bullied but can see that if they get help the problem can be solved.
Then also from the bully’s perspective.
I think this will be a really good way to campaign against bullying.
Thank you for your comments on bullying. Mr. Kelly

Hey guys!

i had a think and came up with 1 idea
1. we should have a compition eg anti-bullying slogans, posters and mascots and have a £1 entry fee and then write to eg comets and ask for sponsership so they donate a laptop ipad or phone or something. That makes money and helps them understand bullying and gets lots of press for the school!

but i like all your ideas guys thanxs mr kelly

Hi Mr Kelly,

I think we should have a week devoted to anti bullying, and it shouldn’t be just for year 7 it should range through out the school. We could have assemblies to raise awareness, that although you don’t think that bullying is that harmful some people even end their lives through a result of being bullied, possibly showing some of the videos you’ve shown us in class?

The consequences of bullying should be recognized as well not many people know that it is illegal to cyberbully and you can be expelled from school if your found bullying someone.

We also need to encourage people no to be the bystander and to go and help the people being bullied.

We could hold a sale (I.E. Cake sale, anti bullying wristbands etc.) collecting money for charities like the NSPCC to help beat bullying.

Hopefully you will find my ideas interesting and helpful.

Here is a video for an anti bullying campaign

this video shows so much and makes me think of when i was in year 3 when i was being bullied

Its a good video and i like it.

this video show exactly how i got bullyed in year 4

Hi Mr Kelly,
My idea is that we could do an assembly to every year and tell them what can be done. And mabey show them the films like in the lesson.

I think that to help the anti-bullying campaign at Ashlawn we could have a team skills building day, to raise funds for someone to come in to school and do an assembly on bullying to create awareness.

Hi Mr Kelly. For our campaign I think we could raise money by having a non uniform day or something like that and use the money to prevent bullying.

Hi Mr.Kelly
I think bullying is horrible and I’ve been bullied before just because ofwhat I was wearing! Can we do a cake sale and make anti bullying cakes. All the money we raise could go to help stop bullying.

I think we should have anti-bullying days where we are off time table and we have a day where we, as a school think of what we can do to help resolve bullying. I also think that we should have an anti-bullying team where theres a group of people that other people can talk to if they are being bullied or have have any issues. I also think that we should have wrist bands that indicate ashlawn students are doing they’re best to make Ashlawn a bully free school.

Hello Mr Kelly
In class when we watched the video about the dad lecturing in schools about his son, I think it made all the kids listening realise how serious bullying actually is. That is why i think we should raise money somehow to get someone like that in to talk to the school. :)

Hi Mr Kelly,

I think we should have lots of difrent posters round the school to show people how bad bulling really is and we could also have a students opinion that has aculy been bulled so the people that are doing the bulling can see how it is hurting people so they will stop.

Hey mr kelly i think bullying is wrong so i think that if everybody in year 7 makes a video on how bad bullying actually is

Hi Sir,
I wasn’t here in your lesson on Monday 1st, but I found out what the homework was and I thought of a good way to get it into people’s heads that bullying is really horrid. I have been bullied due to my personal hygiene before and I didn’t like it one bit. So maybe if, once in every year’s assembly, we bring up everyone in that year who has been bullied and ask them how it felt, they would all hopefully say it was horrible. So if the people in the assembly saw such a unanimous vote, they would think about bullying more and realise that they are fortunate to not be being bullied.

I think we should have a day where we all have a non-school uniform day and some of us make cakes and ice them to say thing’s about bullying and all the lesson’s can invole bullying of somesort so say if you had art you would do a poster about bullying or if you had maths you could do “if there were 7 bullie’s and 3 victim’s what is the ratio or if you had English you could write a poem about bullie’s
and we can raise money at the same time!

hi MR.KELLY I KNOW BULLING SHOULD NOT GO ON AND WHO IS DOING IT SHOULD GET KICKED OUT OF SCHOOL AND I REALY LIKE THIS SCHOOL

Mr Kelly????

Linking to Tom’s idea, we could arrange a session where the police come in to talk to us

What would you like them to talk about? Mr. Kelly

Hello,
I think if you make people comit sucide you should go to prison for it its unfear if the parents loose a child because of others but stull it was there choice they just could not live any more. (Difficult to prove if somone caused someone to commit suicide. Mr. Kelly)

this is useful

Hi Mr Kelly,

I think we should all have one person in the school that we can talk to and know that something will be done about it and it wont just be ignored.

hi mr kelly

i think you should put posters up around school

Hi Mr Kelly, i heard about your bullying blog and thought it would be nice to put down my idea.
I think we should have our very own ‘ASHLAWN PROBLEM SOLVER WEBSITE’ so people who dont want to say it out loud can say their problems can say them on the computer and then it will be sent to Miss Cox and she will do something about it, also a password to get into your acount. and no open problems to people.

Hi Mr Kelly, i heard about your bullying blog and thought it would be nice to put down my idea.

We have this Jamie. If you go on psheok.co.uk and look at the bottom of the page you will find a link to an anti bullying website. Mr. Kelly

I think this is a really good idea!

I agree with Jack Unett’s comment. I myself have been bullied and I wish their would have been somewhere for me to go with other people who where in my situation and just talk about our experience and maybe even learn way’s we can stop it. Maybe do a bake sale or a fund-raiser to go towards hiring someone you has been in our shoes and know how to help.

Hi Mr Kelly,
I think we should organize a Poster Campaign where everyone is off timetable and we design and create posters. We can then have an assembly for each year group and the best posters will be selected and everyone will come up with ideas on why they were selected.
We could also do a fund – raiser I.e Cake Sale, Fairs etc.

maybe we could have a day at ashlawn where we can wear a color (anything) that represents bulling and we could pay £1 to do so then give the money to a anti-bulling charity

Personally i think bullying is dreadful. The consequences of bullying are major.I couldn’t believe it when i found out that people actually killed them self because they were being bullied constantly. It’s just extrordinary! Bullys should get a stricter punishment than what the are given. STOP IT NOW!!!!!

bullying should be stoped because it is an extemily bad thing for a child to go through, as I know for my self. There are many types of bullying and they should all be stoped. Here are some exaples:
phisical abuse
cyber bullying
mental abuse
nasty things about members of your family
over all bullying is a bad !

Hi Mr Kelly. We could use armbands or pencils or stuff like that to show that we are trying to stop people being bullied. We can raise money and put it towards helping others.

I feel that bullying is a very serious subject that needs to be tackled at every school. To help stop it I feel we should have someone who is designated to help and listen to children in that type of situation.

Hi mr.Kelly
I still think bulling is wrong, but after the lesson i have just had there is all ways a background to the bully. The bully’s parents had treated them like this so they think it is right to bully people this way, or they are so angry with their family they decided to take it out on the inocent, or they have done something wrong before so it’s in their blood to do wrong again. I am not doing this to feel sorry for the bullys but if you notice this is all based round the fact something has happend at home, i personally think that bully’s don’t bully for the sake of it!!!

Hey guys,
I think that in every PSHE class doing this topic, we should make a classwide video where we could act out someone being bullied then have someone else trying to stop it and help the bullied person. Then we could post the video on the Ashlawn website.

Hi Mr.Kelly. I think bullying is such a serious situation that we have to take drastic action and teach children to stop it and to know the consequences of it.
I had an idea where we bring local policemen/policewomen to talk to the children about bullying and the consequences if you are a bully- how you might be put into prison for badly abusing another child or an adult abusing a child vice versa. We could also have a school counsellor where a concerned child ( too afraid to talk to a teacher, parent etc) goes and talks in confidence to them about theit issues or worries. Thanks

That is a good idea!!!!:)

i think all schools should have bully boxes so if people are being bullyied they can put a comment into the box.

Hi Mr.Kelly bullying is really horrid and it needs to be stopped in school. can we make anti-bullying posters and hang them round school for students to see. My friends and I had some apples thrown at us on the way home from school.

bulling is so mean.I don’t know why upper school do it.JST
7h

We could have bully buddies or something where older students who have maybe been bullyed themselves who help younger students get over bullying.

Linking Again with Aurelien’s Idea we could tell the police what to do when you are being bullied and what not to do if do become a bully. Aswell we could put the video’s on after or before the police are chatting to us. Juring the day we do the bullying assembelys we can sell pencils and cakes with word on about bullying

Hi mr kelly
I think the idea of creating awareness is a really good idea so i was thinking that if we had an anti-bullying day for all people being bullied for example on a saturday we could invite people to express there views on bullying and explain about the difficult times they have or have done.
My cousin gets bullied alot because of his behaviour problems. He gets made fun of in a certain way that he reacts madly and hurts himself doing it. I do round his house and he’s perfectly ok with me around but unfortunately he lashes out and random which me and my auntie are trying to confront.

i think that to stop bullying we should all work together and help those who are
also we can get soime things around school e.g: a bully box, bully books, bully booths and private helpers.

these are used when you are being bullied to speak or tell somebody about what has happened and they will help you and talk to you about it if you want to
these are my ideas

I think we should raise money for like child line like a sponsered silence.

Once we raised £380 (for charity) at my old hockey club so i think that is a good way to raise money. :)

I tHiNk bUlLyInG iS aWfUl AnD nEeDs tO bE sToPpEd As SoOn aS pOsSiBlE!!!!!

Bullying is one of the worst things that can happen to someone. But death is worse.Sadly sometimes it can lead people to commit suicide. To help stop bullying all together there should be bully boxes and anti bullying chat room sort of things.

i think all yr 7s should make a video that reprasents a girl getting billyed just for her smartness and how she dresses.

signed
Jaye Palmer

I think that yr 7′s should go to a teacher if they are being bullied and don’t think that they should keep it to them selves.
They would be more upset if they keep it secret. i think that they should do a bully box and if you have been bullied then you can write it down if you want to.If you dont want to just tell a teacher

Hi Mr Kelly,
I think we should do everything we can to stop bullying. I think we should all wear wristbands have pencils that say anti bullying on them and any other things we can think off to sell to make money to give towards the anti bullying charities!

In P.S.H.E we watched Susan Boyle on Piers Morgan’s life story and she was bullied as a kid because she was born with brain damage and the kid’s called her horrid name’s and all that which I thought personally was horrid.

HI WE SHOULD HAVE TO SIX FORMERS AT LUNCH AND BREAK TO SEE ANY ONE IS LONELY OR SAD OR WELL YOU GET THE IDEA THANKS FOR READING BYE !

i think that bullying should stop,
because it upsets people and hurts there feelings.

i think that bullying should stop right away cos it’s people constantly being horrable to people for know reason

My ideas are to have a ‘Bully Box’es and ‘Bully buddys’for kids to speak to. Everyone needs to know how bad it feels to be bullied. A day to raise awareness is a good idea but we need to continue talking about this subject throughout the year.

I think we should have a non-uniform day every last friday of the month every three months and charge 50p each student. The money we raise can be put towards our anti-bullying campaign and any projects we do towards the campaign. We can also use the money to have off time table days dedicated to anti-bullying.

My views on bullying are still pretty much the same. If anything has changed it is that they have grew more stronger and I feel more close to the subject since your last lesson. I have found they last few lesson very interesting. My idea’s for the anti-bullying campaign our still very much intact I myself feel that a support group would be very helpful to a lot of people and even though its is going to take more than a support group to stamp out bullying all together in Ashlawn.

My views on bullying are that it is an absolutely disgusting thing to do and it should not be tolerated. Bullying can often be caused by jealousy or someone not being able to control their emotions. It can also be because trouble outside of school in their house (E.g Divorce between parents) Therefore, in my opinion it is not just those who are being bulled that need help, but also the bullies. It needs to stop and it’s everyone’s responsibility to help.

Hi…

I think Bullying is wrong!!!

A Bully box is a good idea because if anyone has any worries/concerns they can write them down on paper and post them in a box that willl be emptied, read and dealt with daily.

Thanks! ( We do have an anti bullying box in the Library, Mr. Kelly)

İ still think that my idea from last week was good and I have not had any other ideas

Hi :D
i like all your ideas guys :)
umm i think we should have a cupcake sale, fair or something but i also like my earlier idea
thanks guys bye :D

After Monday i feel even more against bulling. The table that after working on i felt the strongest about was ‘how do the people who are being bullied feel’ because most of our group had been bullied. I could of been there ages writing an endless list

We could have sessions to talk to our friends about it – if your friends know they can help…

In a suicide note, Jevan wrote “I can’t get anything right. I’m always wrong. I just want to die and I’m going to hang myself.”. Lewisham Council have refused to comment. Chair of governors Don Mahony raised doubts about the competency of headteacher Carmelita Winston when he wrote to Jevan’s parents stating that the presence of their son at the school was “damaging to the health and welfare of the headteacher Carmelita Winston”. See report inThe Observer. Teachers and lecturers are the largest group of callers to the UK National Workplace Bullying Advice Line; in most cases the reported bully is the head teacher with the behavior profile of a serial bully.

7 March 2001: 13-year-old Eminen fan Kayleigh Davies hangs herself in her bedroom on 20 December 2000. Central Hampshire coroner Grahame Short recorded a verdict of suicide after hearing how that Kayleigh had been sent home from Alderman Quilley School in the morning of the last day of term by headmaster Kenneth Button for drinking alcohol. Mr Dawes told the coroner that because of bullying, Kayleigh had been moved from Crestwood School in Eastleigh to nearby Alderman Quilley where, after an initial period of calm, experienced bullying again.

23 June 2001: Nicola Raphael, 15, died after taking an overdose of painkillers at her home in Kirkintilloch, Dunbartonshire, Scotland. She had been the target of bullying for some time. A spokeswoman for East Dunbartonshire Council said that “Nicola was part of a group within the school which did receive unwanted attention from other pupils and where incidents were reported and names provided, investigations were carried out and appropriate action taken.” [Statement from Nicola's Mum]

20 September 2001: 14-year-old Laura Grimes committed suicide by taking an overdose of painkillers after being bullied at school and rejected by friends. Avon and District coroner Paul Forrest described Laura’s case as “one of the most distressing I have come across in 20 years”. Laura took a massive overdose of Co-proxamol painkillers after leaving eleven suicide notes. Headmaster of Mangotsfield School, Derek Hall, said that the school had a very strict policy on bullying, and that Laura had never complained of bullying to her tutor, head of year, or to her large number of friends. Laura had not told her parents of her ordeal (the reasons why children don’t tell their parents about being bullied are revealed in Bullycide: death at playtime). [More]

27 November 2001: fifteen-year-old Elaine Swift died from an overdose of painkillers after a campaign of bullying, harassment and assault which started after she was featured in the media for having donated bone marrow to her younger sister who was suffering from leukaemia. Elaine’s parents say that they were let down by the LEA who failed to take her allegations seriously. The bullying comprised daily verbal harassment and taunting, and on one occasion a lighted match was thrown into her hair, which caught fire. The situation had become so untenable that Elaine was moved from Brierton School in Hartlepool last year. Head teacher of Brierton School Stuart Priestley stated that his school had a “rigorous anti-bullying policy” and that every incident of bullying that was reported was investigated. Bill Jordon, head teacher at Elaine’s new school, Dyke House in Hartlepool, said that he was satisfied with steps taken to deal with bullying claims made by Elaine. Hartlepool’s assistant director of education Adrienne Simcock asserted “I am confident that the school has acted properly and taken all the appropriate steps when investigating the claims.” Elaine died after an emergency liver transplant failed to reverse the effects of 100 paracetamol tablets taken over a period of a fortnight. [More: The Times]

21 November 2001: an inquest has been opened into the suicide of 13-year-old Nottingham teenager Morgan Musson who was found dead in her bed on 15 November. Morgan’s mother, Debra Savage, claimed that her daughter had been taunted and bullied by girls from Ellis Guilford School in Nottingham for seven months and that the school had not done enough to deal with the bullying. Nottingham LEA said they had taken action but there was no evidence to suggest that the bullying amounted to anything more than verbal abuse. Ellis Guilford headmaster Peter Plummer declined to comment. [More: BBC News Online | The Times | Ananova]
Update 20 February 2002: the inquest on 13-year-old Morgan Musson has returned an open verdict as the coroner could not satisfy himself that she intended to kill herself. Unlike a physical injury or physical cause of death, a psychiatric injury cannot be studied and recorded after death. All the coroner has is (sometimes) the suicide letter and (always) the denial of everyone who contributed to the bullycide: the bullies, the witnesses of bullying, and those in authority who should have acted but didn’t. Greater weight is often attached to these denials than to the written and reported testimony of the deceased who has been tormented to death and to the deceased’s family who have lived (and continue to live) the nightmare. An open verdict, which may be legally correct, neither relieves the suffering of the family nor does it enable the perpetrators to be held accountable for their sins of commission and omission. [Ananova]

5 March 2002: an inquest on 15-year-old Hannah Taylerson has returned a verdict of “self-harm”. Hannah hanged herself with her school tie after having problems at school which included peers talking about her behind her back. Previously Hannah had visited her doctor with self-inflicted cuts which she told him were due to problems at school, John Cabot City Technology College in Bristol, England. Hannah had recently visited school counsellors but had apparently not told them about bullying. Recording his verdict, Bristol coroner Paul Forrest said: “This girl had problems with friends and her boyfriend and she took her own life.” [BBC News Online]

13 April 2002: 13-year-old Laura Kilibarda was found hanged in her home at Lisvane, near Cardiff, after complaining about being bullied at school. [Details] At Laura’s inquest on 23 October 2002 police said they found no evidence of bullying, but her parents suspect otherwise after talking to Laura’s friends. [More]

18 April 2002: 14-year-old Adam Grigg hanged himself with a lanyard from his sea cadet’s uniform after three years of bullying which started at Broadgate Primary School, Horsforth, Leeds, and continued when he moved to Horsforth School. Adam was described as a quiet, sensitive child who loved to play with computers and his pet dog. He was looking forward to a career in the Royal Navy. Instead he endured three years of being spat at, beaten up and had threatening notes written in his school books which culminated in his suicide to escape the violence. [More]

4 August 2002: an inquest in Whitby heard how 13-year-old Jack Glasby hung himself after being bullied at Caedmon School, Whitby, Yorkshire, which he had left five months previously. As a study by Kidscape found, the cumulative psychiatric injury caused by bullying at school endures, often throughout life. Problems started in February 2001 when another pupil hung Jack over a stairwell and said he would drop him. Hi. I dont think it will come up but if you want to watch it then type in on youtube anti-bullying ad. I have an idea for the campaign! :-) Put random pics or stamps of people that have died cos of bullying and put what there name was and when they died and maybe a little message to them.

I belive we should just make a massive poster on bullying
yr 7:a poster on how it can hurt
yr 8,9:a poster on how many kids in the uk are bullys
yr 10,11,12:a poster on how many kids in the world are bullyed
yr13: a poster how bullying can be stoped.
Thank you Jaye from Mr. Kelly

that is a fantastic idea Jaye!!! :)

I agree!

i love that idea that is i hope we can do that and we would all miss a week of school to do it so we wont have to rush it and we could all be in a group of 5 or 6 and we could each have a little part of the poster again i LOVE the idea hope we can do it.

Hi Mr Kelly.
Bullying is wrong. I know it as I am at this very moment a victum for bullying. I hate it. it is very wrong and i think that it should be stopped in all countries. i think all countries should be kind to each other and not mean. When will people understand how to be nice? When will they understand that bullying is wrong?
Please use my idea for all of the school to be involved in anti bullying week
1. Y7 How can bullying hurt?
2. Y8 When does it happen?
3. Y9 What happens
4. Y10 What is it like to be a bully?
5. Y11 What is it like to be a bullys victum?
6. Y12 and Y13 When will it stop?

Hi Mr Kelly!

I dont think bullying should go on anymore because it could hurt peoples feelings even if you dont mean it sometimes!
Good Comment. Georgia Mr. Kelly

Hi Mr Kelly

I Know that bullying is not nice and not good so I should say that Ashlawn school can stop it as soon we must stop it as well.

This is a kind comment. Pooja Mr Kelly

Bullying is very horrible and we could stop it by making eye catching posters and some surveys about bullying.

hi, I have been bullied by some y10 or 11′s and i don’t like it it makes me feel very upset!! It doesn’t happen all the time but when it does happen i HATE it!!

Yes, doing a HUGE survey of all of the school, and the teachers, because they may of been bullied themselves. That’s a really good idea, because I bet most people would be really shocked at the results, like how many people have been bullied, and people sometimes dont tell. Great Idea! LOVE it!!!!!!!!!:0 :) :$

Hi Mr Kelly
I think that to stop bullying at school year 7 & 8 should put posters around the school about the different types of bullying.
Year 9 & 10 could hold a survey and should ask a few people in the play ground every day about bullies.
( What would we ask the people about bullying?) Mr. Kelly

Bulling is horrible, it should stop now. I dont think people relize how nasty it is. We should make posters and put them round school to show people how important it is. People kill them selves because of bullying and that is terrible.

I found a really long list of children who killed themselves because of bullying.

This is what i call a long list and its so sad fut it is funny to my sis colina

I think we should have a website to teach kids who are being bullyed and if they don’t think they can tell someone. But there is someone they can tell there story. The only person who can see the comment is teachers at ashlawn. I think bulling is wrong as once i was bullyed at one of my primary schools.

hi…

bullying is wrong and nasty it needs to stop . we could sells book marks and little booklets about advise so that it will help other people to stop bullying.

I think that bullying should be stopped ASAP. It is not fair on the people who have put up with bullys day after day and in a worst case senario some young boys and girls have lost their live’s to bullying “Death by bullying”.

i think we should have a website that people can go on and they tell teachers what has happened rather than a bukky box because if a bully sees you putting a slip into it they nay start bullying the person who put it in so we sould have the bully box but also a website that we can go on to report bullying

DANIEL WE HAVE A PLACE TO REPORT BULLYING ON THE PSHEOK.CO.UK website on the front page. Mr. Kelly

Hello Mr Kelly :)
In Mrs Smiths class we watched some bullying videos it really made me think about the effect of bullying on people even just wat they’re wearing! its really horrible and it should stop straight away and the idea of people losing there lives because they feel so upset is really terrible. Its gd its anti bullying week! :)

:(
bullying is horrible ,no one deserves to be bullied it is so sad to think of all the people who have killed them selves because of it .

I think bullying is wrong everyone is special in their own way what ever they look like. Dont you be the bully.

I think bullying should stop there is no need for it. The bullies think they are all tough they are the weak ones because they are the ones that are going to get detentions and get told off and we will be the ones that end up on top. So all the people that are bullying just think for a second if this was happening to you how would you feel. Some people get really stressed because they get bullied and sometimes they commit suicide so just think if your picking on somebody they could be the one that commits suicide. Together we can stop bullying.

At my old shcool we had people on the playground that you could go to to talk to if you felt you were being bullied. Perhaps we could get some of the older student to do the same kind of thing.

I think bullying is sick and horrible and needs to stop. What bully’s do to people is disgusting, and it makes me really sad that people have to kill themselves to make it stop. I think we should have a day as a whole school without normal lessons, but about anti – bullying. Like making posters, and dramas and things :)

i think bullying is pointless, It only leaves people upset

Hi

mr kelly

I think there should be a day where people don’t bully each other not just that it is not nice too be bulled STOP BULLING KNOW it is not nice it’s horriball we must not have it a school or eney where else stop it know there is no bad people have the write’s to hite punch kick or something like that STOP IT KNOW.

Mr Kelly,

I think a “Stop Bullying” campaign is a really good idea for people to speak out if they are being bullied because it’s a very major issue that should be dealt with immediatly. I also think the punishment for bullying should be more serious and if it continues may’be even exclusion! I hope my Suggestion will be of use. Thank you.

I think it is very sad that for some that for some people only way out of bullying is to kill themself. It’s really horrible!!! :( I don’t want this to go on! Kid’s need all the help and support available!

I agree. :(

me too!

i think that if you get bullied then you should have some to talk to straight away!!

Hi Mr Kelly,

I think bulling is wrong and people should stop doing it!I think that it is horrible that people have to put up with these bullies mostly everyday. But most importantly for some people it is just to much and they have lost there lives to bullying.

HELP PEOPLE TO STOP BULLYING!

Although this is a song the sub plot is a girl being ignored/bullied!!

the video really good and firm

Mr Kelly you should make anti-bullying more advertised by putting up posters so people know about it more.

Isabel that is really shocking where you find all those names.

Hi Mr Kelly,

I think bullying is not at all a nice thing, and maybe year 7 could make some posters to put up around school to tell others that bullying is a horrible thing to do.

i think that bullies are wrong, why would you want to bully in the first place. if you bully your life has gone and your upsetting someone else aswell, so whats the point…
if you want to bully someone bully yourself, bully yourself into not
bullying others!

WOW that was wordy but a good explanation :-s

bullying is crule there sould be more advertesments about it on tv i dont think that is fair someone is bullyed just because of the way they are the bullys are normally bullying people because they are gelous the other person is better than them when people r bullied the bully eventuly realises it is bad and after bullying someone u normally will start to feel what the other people felt so bullying someone else will eventully turn to bullying urself :)

I think bullying is really sad, and no one should do it!:( The video we watched was so sad (the one where the boy hangs himself)!!!!:( I hope that dosen’t really happen in real life!!!!

Hi Mr Kelly,
I think to prevent bullying we could have a club for people who are being bullied and amongst themselves they could talk to each other about what has happened and make friends with each other making their school life happier then at the end they can vote on a teacher they all trust and tell him/her who is bullying them if they want to. Then in the next club (which runs twice a week) the teacher can get all of the people to write a letter on the computer saying how they feel about being bullied. If a bully has been revealed to a teacher then the teacher should find him/her and tell him/her that most of people that are being bullied wrote a letter about how they feel/felt and ask them to pick a random letter out of the box and read it. This should hopefully result to the bullies realising what they have done and make them think twice before they act again. I hope you like my idea!=-)!

Holly Stuckey is one of the children who has died from being bullied and she was 12 years-old (1998-2010)
Steven Sheperd is another person who has killed himself, he killed himself in Lancashire in 1967.

The name they call it if children have killed themselves from being bullied is bullycide.

This is my video that i’ve made myself on bullying.

Each day, two people under the age of 24 commit suicide.
In 1997, 1757 Young males commited suicide whilst only 412 Young females commited suicide.
Carl Joseph Walker – Hoove, at the age of 11, hung himself with an extension cord. He did this because of the bulling, he wanted it to stop, he felt there was no other way out.
I personally find this disgraceful and i couldn’t imagine the pain that anyone must feel who has lost a close one as a result of bullying.

I found this video on you tube and I thought it was quite a good example of bullying.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=slIeaNr-rRM. I didn’t know how to put the attachment on but if you type into you tube ‘DFE Anti Bullying Video’ you can watch it. Thanks. :)

The poor boy!:( That was a good video!

I think that there should be groups of people that walk all over the school to check for bullies.
Also a room that you can go to talk about your problems with pupils or teacher.

i think that you or a teacher could hold a bully club at break or lunch times and people who are beeing bullied could go to this club and say whats happenning and they could all share ideas of how they could prevent this happenning to them. Thankyou and i hope you like my idea!!!!!!!

i think everyones ideas are great!!!!!!! i have read nearly all of the comments :)

I agree with jack because people get bullied all the time and nothing happens but if their was somewhere they could go they might think of talking to someone about it.

i don’t see the point in bullying because you don’t get anything out of it accept from making over peoples lives misrerable so to stop bullying we could make a anti bullying team to go round the classes and make sure no one is being bullied and if they re we can sort it out

Hi Mr Kelly,
To prevent bulling we should make a bully box and in that you can write your name on piece paper and the issue. After that the teather with withdraw you from a lesson and talk to you about it and hopefully sort it out. Also if some students voulenteer to be part of certian club to stop bullying they can discuss ideas, as well as if they spot bullying happening they can tell a teacher to stop it happening. And that is how I think we should stop bullying.Hope you liked it.:)

it is a very touching video, its hard to see a grown man, a ‘dad’, talk about he son who had taken his life because of thoughtless idiots!!

Im glad that he can do the school talks and encourage people to stand up to the bullies.

I think bullying should be against the law. if someone is seen bullying at school they should be expelled immediately.

in a pshe class all teachers should show a touching video like the one called ‘bullying and suicide’.

it is not a nice thing to be doing so lets fight it together!!!!

I think we should have a room/office where people who are being bullied should go. In this room older students would be “On duty” where the victims of the bulling could go to talk to them about: What is going on, Who are the bullies (optional) How they are feeling & how could they take action. When they are finished they could set another date so the pupil who is getting bullied could come back and tell them if things have improved or not.
I don’t think posters are a very good idea because students just walk past them without noticing them but i think that we should carry on with the bully box.

I think that anti bulling week is a good idea but people who are getting bullied should get just more than a week because like in some cases people kill themselves. Is that really worth one week?
P.S I wonder how the bully’s feel when they find the person who they bully kills themselves? I know i couldn’t live with myself but then i’m not a bully.

I think bullying is wrong because it makes people upset. I think there should be a club which people who are getting bullied can go to and talk to people. I love everyones ideas xx

I think bullying is wrong because it makes people upset. I think there should be a club which people who are getting bullied can go to and talk to people. I love everyones ideas xx I also think that anyone who is being bullied should tell their friend or even tell a student leadership person and this could make someone’s life better xx

I think bullying is terribal it ruins lives and is extreamly annoying some people even commite suicide

bullying is wrong it ruins lives

To prevent bulling i think we should put poster up around school to incourage people not to bully

imogen :) i think it would be a good idea to put posters around school so people are always aware

I think bulling is disgraceful, and should be band from all schools because it drives some to death!

Bullying…

We should put posters and surveys around school to see what pupils think about bullying. :D

Bullying can lead to death.
(Thanks for your comments. Mr. Kelly)

Hi Mr kelly,
I thought that school could get some bands and when we come to school in our form rooms we could buy some and we could also do some activities. This will get the point across and make some money for the school.

I Think bullying is unnessary it can cause people to kill their selfs.
i dont see why people do it because even if there is somone with a type of desise they are still a person and shouls be treated like you want to be treated. we all have differnt personalitys but you dont need to bullt somone over it.

the forth last word on my last post is ment to be bully sorry

i think we should create a club for people who have been bullied because if there upset they can share it not keep it to themselves.

hi guys
i think that bullying is wrong because we are all different and unique in different ways and that is what makes us special never mind what other people think. we all are important and the world would not be the same without us all being here. so we should not pay attention to what people say if they are bullying us and think that we are all here for a reason, that is what the world go round.

hi mr kelly,

i think bullying is just a form of making the bullies feel big and strong when it just shows how attention seeking and cruel and shows they’re teying to prove something. i think that you could plant teachers around the school looking for signs of bullying. and you could set up a workshop on how bullying escalates and how we can work together to stop bullying all together.

thanx,lauren

I think bullying is wrong and it is not nice for the people who are the victims. The bully should get punished.Teachers could do assemblies on bullying more often and talk about bullying in class.

Hi Mr Kelly,
We could have an after school club for anyone who is feeling bullied and lonely and then they could talk over their problems and do fun activites to help them forget about the problems but if it repeats then the teachers can sort it out!

anti bullying week is a good idea. my friend has been bullied and on anti bullying week he gets a break. he/she should get a break everyday though

STOP BULLYING!

I think that anti-bullying campaigns are really good ideas because most of us are most likely being bullied or are bullying brothers/sisters without knowing it! It raises awareness and helps you STOP the bullying for good.

My other idea for bullying is that the whole Yr7 group should create Posters, surveys, quizes and more to see what we all think off bullying and then create more posters to show what bulling can lead to e.g death.
Thanks. :D

i think for our campain we should make posters and spread the message across town

People should realise how bad bullying is… Bullying can lead to all types of things like suiside. together we can stop bullying, provent bullies from bullying people like us.

Look how many people have killed themselves because of bullying.

me too

I think bullying is completely wrong. people shouldn’t bully…
i always used to get told that if you had been a bully, you’ll get bullied or if you have been bullied you are a bully!

I think that if a person gets bullied and the victim does something like suicide then I would consider the bully to be a murderer

Bullying is a big problem. fortunately it doesnt happen in our school and hopefully it never will. The bully box is a very good idea ut when the children tell the teachers the teachers should say that they saw them do it so then the bullies wont get worse because the victim had told them off Because if people find out that someone has told off them then the bullies will get much worse unless the teachers punixh them severly.

i think some bullying might be happening in our school zaeem- lots of people on the blog have said they were bullied. i also think that the bully box is a gd idea :)

hi mr Kelly,
I think we should have someone who has been bullied before but over came it by knowing what to do, in our assenbly to help us know how to stop us getting bullied or just in case were getting bullied.

how sad!!! i got so badly bullied in primary im the devil child from nursery lol my message is be nice 2 peeps who r gettin bullied stick up 4 em.

i think bullying is very wrong and people who bully other people think it is cool but it is not when you are hurting peoples feelings. if you are getting bullied you should tell teacher and the bullys will get told not to do it and hopfully it would stop. sometimes even police get involed because it is a horrible thing to do. i think the bully box is a very good idea because if you are getting bullied you are not going up to some one and telling in front of them insted put it in the box.

I think bullying is a big problem and I dont understand why people have to be so cruel . its not fair on the person that is being bullied how would the person bullying like it if he was being bullied . Im sure he wouldnt be happy so why bully ? I think the bully box is a good idea so those who are getting bullied can be helped

i think bullying is wrong and there should be more lessons and it shoul be advertised around the school that it is wrong. we could have anti-bullying merchendise and posters.we could also have ant-bullying meetings for form councillers.

treat people how u want to be treated

hi mr kelly,
im just gonna put down my idea and what i think. bulling is a way that people want to show that they are big and bad. i watched that video about suidide coz of bullying and it was dreadfull.mrs smith in pshe said she couldn’t see that and wouldn’t let us watch it. now i know why coz i watched it with my mum and she cried. thats it fo now so bye.

Everyone has bullied someone in the past without relizing. you never know a small word will have so much impact on the person. You can never tell how sensitive a person isor whats is happening when you not around them if they have to struggle very day and my main advise to think before you speak.

hii mr kelly i agree with everyone that has commented because ,i know what its like to be bullied and the more we teach about it , the more people will find the courage to tell somebody about it because it took me 4 years to tell somebody and when i did it made a difference. we also should give more seroius punnisments. many thnx ANDREW LUCAS !

I loved the film we wached i strongly think that the film is all about Trever and trust my motto for the film is
trust the peoplew less forchenant then you not just about having no money but about bulling and the using of people!!!

sorry there was a typo i ment people and fortunate

its wrong and thats it

the film was ever so strong mr kelly

bullyin is rly bad. IT SHUD STOP! Soz bout the capitals. I feel sorry for evryone who is getin bullied. If u r getin bulied jst ignore them or stand up to the bully, obviously not by bein vilent but jst say stop or summin nd dont jst let it get to u. Luv ashley. :) xxxxxxxx

Hi. I commented yesterday but its not on here. Anyway I think that bullying is really wrong. I don’t understand why there are people still being bullied everywhere. For everyone that are being bullied I feel sorry for you. Tell someone and don’t let it get to you. If you are a bully think about what you are doing and its not funny or fun to bully people. Luv Ashley. xxxxxxx ;) Stop Bullyin!.. ;)

i think bullying is horrible. i was bullyd at my old school and i know what it is like. i hope it does not happen again to me and to every one who has been bullyd.

I think that we should all pull together and mr kelly you know we have parter ship reading we could go to them if we are being bullied and they would be able to help us throgh it.

zoe laing

all of the lists of people who died because of bullying mack my sick we should make these reduce by christmas hopefully

I think that bulling is wrong i have got a freind that had an apple with her lunch and a girl came an thrugh it on the floor and the teachers did nothing about it the girl that through it on the floor only got told not to do it again. Her other freind came along and comferted her and she told her what happend and she gave her some of her lunch insted. And then the girl that through the apple on the floor said that it wast her fault that it went on the floor even though she through it on the floor.

I think people should help the people being bullied by seting up clubs ect.

I think the subject is good to know and understand about it

I think bullying is a very serious thing that happens in every school no doubt about it in your lifetime you would have been bullied atleast once but people dont realise even just pushing someone or calling them a name that is bullying but THIS NEEDS TO STOP NOW BEFORE IT GETS MORE AND MORE SERIOUS !!!! so i think there should be a place to go if your getting bullied but there is pshe staff or any other that will help so please own up bullies and you people out there getting bullied please TELL SOMEONE while you can !!!!!

i think that bullying is wrong, and it can really hurt someones feelings, even though you think that your not doing anything to them. We should set up a bullying club so that people who have been bullied can go there and explain their issues to either teachers or students. and also we should have a day where everyone can talk about whats happened to them. i’ve been bullied before and it really hurts. something should happen about this!!!!!
